Terrible Year So Far

How can we explain how the year 2020 is going so far, in as little words as possible? I don’t know it seems like a disaster all around would be the correct answer, with everything going on the way that it is. It seems like it its been a terrible year so far with everything that has gone on. With the whole world dealing with the Coranavirus, the death of Kobe Bryant, Iran, the schools being closed, the list goes on. 2020 seems to be piling on and on for some people it seems like, but you know one thing I’ve learned is, you got to keep it going.

Storm Damage Leesburg

In Loudoun county many people woke up to some of their houses getting hit by a tornado. Which is crazy, who would of thought of all places getting hit by a tornado, Leesburg of all places. We really felt that one cause my aunt was directly impacted by that tornado. That tornado caused damage to both residential and commercial properties. It was mostly wind damage, but imagine the kind of wind damage that we’re talking about. The winds reached more than 75 miles an hour, trees were in the street.

Coronavirus in Loudoun

On top of all that, Loudoun county had it’s first case of the Coronavirus. What is the Coronavirus you may be asking? Well according to Google it says;

Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans.

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people.  Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans.

Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

On top of that we had Kobe Bryant dying, the Black Mamba was my favorite basketball player for the last 2 decades. Even though I’ve always been a Lakers fan, Kobe changed basketball as we know it. He’s the only player other than Michael Jordan to do what he has done. Kobe Bryant was still young, that’s the other thing that still shocks everyone still. The other thing that shocks everyone else is the fact his daughter was with him.

But what sucks the most for many parents around the country right now is that many schools have closed. Due to this Coronavirus certain places around the country have closed down, and some of those places include schools. That means a lot of these hard working people got to take time off work or hire additional childcare services for their children. Either way it’s been an awful year for many around the world and all we can do is pray for it.
